Notes to Editors
1. Baryonyx Corporation is a privately owned company incorporated in the State of Texas seeking to bring innovative renewable energy solutions to the state and to the country. By co-locating a large scale data center with an equally large scale wind farm, Baryonyx's wind/data concept allows us to optimize the role of renewable energy in large scale power provision and carbon emissions reduction.
2. Baryonyx's business concept centers on the practical applications of renewable energy - capturing it, harnessing it and - most importantly - deploying it. This is not a simple wind energy play, and the Baryonyx model isn't just about green electricity for the grid. Rather, the wind/data concept is a unique, holistic approach to solving one of the biggest energy concerns facing the country.
3. By bringing the data center to the wind resource and coupling it with innovative back-up power sources, Baryonyx intends to offer a completely 'green' solution to data center power requirements with minimal power transmission losses. Excess power from the wind farm will form a 'green energy' store which will be drawn upon in periods of low wind. The data center acts as a load bank for the green power produced, and removes the necessity to either upgrade a rural grid connection to handle large power inputs or waiting for the 'Smart grid' to be implemented. By minimizing the challenge of matching grid strength at the point of common connection of the wind power plant, Baryonyx hopes to locate large wind farms in remote rural and offshore areas without incurring high up-front infrastructure costs.
4. In 2009 Baryonyx Corporation was awarded 3 wind development concessions by TGLO (Texas General Land Office), this consists of one onshore tract and two offshore tracts in state waters in the Gulf of Mexico
• Offshore Lease Tract A - Nueces County, Gulf of Mexico - 19,010 Acres - Mustang prospect
• Offshore Lease Tract B - Cameron County, Gulf of Mexico - 19,794 Acres - Rio Grande prospect
• Onshore Dallam County - 8,064 Acres - Dallam Ranch prospect
